The Stoneham Coalition for a Safe & Healthy Community brings people together to prevent substance use, support recovery, reduce stigma, and address the underlying factors that affect the health and well-being of our community.
We believe prevention starts with connection, education, and opportunity. By working alongside youth, families, schools, local organizations, businesses, public safety, health professionals, and community members, we create programs and initiatives that help Stoneham residents make healthy choices and thrive.
We work to prevent substance use before it starts by providing education, building protective factors, and creating positive opportunities for young people and families. Our prevention efforts focus on evidence-based strategies that strengthen individuals and our community.
Knowledge can change lives. We provide information, trainings, and community conversations about substance use, addiction, mental health, prevention, and recovery. We work to make reliable, judgment-free information accessible to everyone.
Young people are at the heart of our prevention work. Through the Stoneham Youth Coalition and other youth-focused initiatives, we empower teens to become leaders, make healthy choices, and help shape a stronger community.
Recovery is possible—and no one should have to navigate it alone. We connect individuals and families with resources, support, and community connections while promoting a culture that recognizes recovery as a journey worthy of respect and celebration.
We work to replace judgment with understanding. By sharing stories, providing education, and creating opportunities for honest conversations, we help build a community where people feel safe asking for help and supporting one another.
Substance use doesn't happen in isolation. We look beyond the issue itself to address factors that can influence substance use and mental health, including bullying, social connection, positive youth development, and other community conditions.
Real change happens when a community works together. We bring residents, organizations, schools, businesses, health and human service providers, public safety, and other community partners together around a shared vision: a safe, healthy, and supportive Stoneham for everyone.
Whether you're a student, parent, neighbor, business owner, professional, person in recovery, or simply someone who cares about Stoneham, there is a place for you at the table.
Together, we can prevent substance use, support recovery, strengthen our youth, reduce stigma, and build a healthier community.
